Beware of radiator leaks

Recently I rebuilt my main computer to move both radiators (double and single) into the case resulting in a completely enclosed, or internal water cooling setup. The reason for this was to make the pc easier to move. Sitting in a CM Stacker, the case is already quite big but is on wheels so it makes it easier to move around the house :) After re-hosing everything, I filled the system up with liquid and turned it on. Shortly after to find a nice little leak dripping onto my video card. Actually I noticed my screens were going all weird. This wasn't a good sign so I turned everything off to ascertain where the leak was coming from. The single radiator had been punctured when screwing it into its new position. After draining the system, taking everything apart, sure enough there was a large hole in the copper pipe. The screw had gone through it like butter. With some handy advice from my Dad; the head of a screw (to act as a plug) and some five minute epoxy glue, twenty minutes later the system was back up and running. I was close to replacing my 7800gtx video card when I thought it was cactus. I cleaned the remaining residue off the card and when I plugged it back in it was still fine :) A good thing too, because I'm waiting to get an 8900gtx or two 8800 gt's.

I do believe that you are very lucky to come out of that one with a working video card.

I will also be very jealous when you have two 8800's in the one machine. I take it you would be getting the high end ones. Let us know what you can do with 1.5gb of Video ram!
